About This Site
Like Father. Like Son.
I come from a family of photographers. My cousins would joke that family reunions were like award shows; where family members came armed with cameras.
Past generations would dutifully print their photos and archive them in albums; my grandparents had more than a dozen.
But the world has changed; the albums of the past are the pages of today.

Anyone can. Everyone Should
My first photo professor believed that everybody could take 12 or 15 great pictures; and the goal of her class was to prove it.
Each collection on this site is organized this way; with no more than 15 photographs. Aside from photo-stitching techniques, minor straightening, color correction and dust removal nothing is retouched, altered or cropped.

The Places You'll Go.
The Things You'll See.
I go a lot of places. These naturally lend them to geographically organized collections; you will find these under "places."
Some collections are more about a thing than a place. You'll find these under "Things" in the "Things" menu; but they are also curated and limited to 15 photos at any given time.

Take them as they come.
Additionally, in a nod to the media feed culture we now find ourselves in you can also opt for an object based experience, like "clouds" or "mountains;" these dynamic feeds are found under "Topics" under the "things" menu. They are organized chronologically, update in real time and are limited to 30 photos.

Or see them as they were.
I have been a proponent of wide screen or panorama photography long before camera phones made it common place. I've used both panorama mode on a smartphone and digital photo-stiching; I've even been able to composite some of my old film images I shot with a mind to experiment years before this was even a thing. You’ll find these very large format photos under ‘vistas’.

Years In the Making. #TheView
I love sunsets. Ever since I was a little kid I've been trying to photograph them. Right now I’m fortunate to have a lovely view when I’m at home in California; so choose #theview to see whatever latest sky show nature happens to be putting on where I live. Generally they will be mountain/city views or views out towards the ocean so the represent a historical timeline of imagery for a certain place.

Your best camera. It's the one you have with you.
I don't have any fancy equipment. I've shot on Canon and Pentax film cameras. Digital cameras from Canon and Fuji. Smartphones from Blackberry and Apple. When I'm travelling I'll often use an SLR and a smartphone simultanously. So you may see some or all of these images on this site.

More is less. Less is More
Finally I love museums and galleries; so this site is designed to replicate that experience; with some white space and a place of calm for each image. There is a full screen mode if you are on a phone or tablet; but that’s it. No gimmicks. No monkey business. Just photographs.
